June 2, 2018 - More Info to Follow !
Dear Virginia Conference UMW,
I want to thank everyone who participated in this years UMW Day at Ferrum College. It was such a blessing to have everyone at the college celebrating our United Methodist and Ferrum College connection. Our students and staff were so complimentary of your hospitality. Our fellowship together truly blessed my soul.
I also want to thank those who have preregistered for UMW Day 2018. I have already reserved our date for June 2, 2018 to be in Vaughn Chapel for our program and the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain Room for our lunch together. We had originally scheduled and confirmed Bishop Lewis to be with us as our speaker for the day. Unfortunately, Bishop Lewis has been in touch with us and is having to reschedule her visit to Ferrum College. She has a family member getting married and will be presiding over the service. She regrets she will not be able to be with us in person, but has confirmed she will be sending us video greetings.
God has a way of weaving our lives together. While I was at Annual Conference, and before I received Bishop Lewis' regrets, I met Gary Zieglar, one of our retired United Methodist pastors whose passion is to share, in first person, the story of some of our Methodist Circuit Riders I have been in touch with Gary and he has agreed to be with us June 2, 2018 for UMW Day at Ferrum College He is currently looking at our Ferrum College history and studying the surrounding area in order to prepare for his time with us. I can't wait to see what he uncovers! It should be an interesting journey!
For those who have pre-registered, we will be offering not a 10% discount but a 15% discount off the 2018 registration.
Praying for our next time together. Please watch for more updates in early 2018.
